WetcareNano Technology Fabrics
The revolution in upholstery fabrics

Waterproof and flame retardant, yet still breathable

A new era has dawned in the furniture industry. Advanced technological materials and processes are combined to produce the revolutionary patented Wetcare® flame-retardant upholstery fabrics. One of the most impressive features is the Wetcare® membrane that is laminated to the fabric using micro-screen technology – a process that makes the fabrics ultra-waterproof (hydrostatic head >10m) yet remain breathable. The Wetcare® membrane works like an invisible shield by preventing fungi, mildew, bacteria, viruses and damp from penetrating upholstered items such as sofas and chairs.

Silver nanoparticles in the battle against micro-organisms

In the outdoor environment there are many naturally occurring micro-organisms which are important for our planet’s ecological structure. However, in an indoor environment, these micro-organisms can be a source of allergies and illness. It is widely known that the excrement of the bed mite can cause allergic reactions when thriving in warm, moist conditions. Many types of micro-organism can grow in a very short time to become a source of contamination from bacteria etc. These organisms multiply quickly in carpets, curtains and upholstery. By adding anti-microbial silver nanoparticles to the Wetcare® coating, micro-organisms such as the MRSA bacteria, are prevented from growing and spreading. Silver nanoparticles are one of the most efficient and environmentally friendly ways to prevent the growth of bacteria, fungi and bed mites.

Modern technology, old fashion comfort and easy care

Upholstery fabrics should feel comfortable and, although the patented Wetcare® fabrics undergo many different treatments to change their functionality, the natural feel and original comfort are unchanged. The Wetcare® nano-coating process puts a protective layer around all the fibres individually and protects them in the best way possible. This technique also makes it possible to treat fabrics with an open structure - the fibres will not feel sticky and flattened therefore the look of the fabric will also not be changed.

Upholstery that keeps itself fresh

In the battle to remove bad odours from furniture, spraying fresheners on them has a temporary and limited effect. The unwanted odours in the fabric are re-released when the next person sits on the affected sofa or chair. However, the patented Wetcare® upholstery fabrics keep themselves fresh - the nanocoating eliminates the bad odour molecules under the influence of light keeping the furniture permanently fresh.

Widely usable, remarkably better

The advanced characteristics of the Wetcare® technology means that it can be applied to almost any upholstery fabric, without affecting its look and feel. When quality and hygiene cannot be compromised, the patented Wetcare® collection can provide the perfect solution. Wetcare® upholstery fabrics are ideal to use in areas where heavy use and the chances of spillage are the everyday norm - environments such as hospitals and nursing homes, schools and colleges, hotels, conference centres, pubs, clubs and restaurants. Its anti-fungal and stain resistant properties prevent bacteria growth and staining.
